Remembering Mr. Fred Kirby
Dear CMTHS Family,
It gives me great sorrow to inform you that Mr. Fred Kirby, one of our Automotive Technology Instructors, died unexpectedly on April 26, 2022.
Death can be difficult for us to understand, especially when it is sudden. Many of us may be confronted with a variety of emotions, which might include shock, sadness, and confusion. I want to assure you that the entire CMTHS staff cares about our students and the feelings they may be experiencing. Please know that we are here to support them during this difficult time.
Any student who needs to talk to one of our counselors should inform their teacher. This is a time when we all need to lean on each other and be there for one another. If you are concerned about a classmate, please reach out to them, or tell a staff member.
Mr. Kirby's passing will deeply affect us all in various ways, so please take the time to check in on each other regularly, as we all heal in our own time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and one another. Please click HERE for arrangements.
In sorrow,
Dr. Angela King, Executive Director CMTHS

Remembering Mr. Michael Bivins
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we inform you that our beloved security professional Mr. Michael Bivins passed away on November 29, 2021. Mr. Bivins was the heart and soul of CMTHS for 23 years. Being able to know every student who attended CMTHS is just a small part of his unmatched legacy. Mr. Bivins joked with, spoke with, and protected the entire CMTHS family. Mr. Bivins made a unique and lasting impression that could never be forgotten with every student, staff member, parent, and community member who ever had the opportunity to meet him. Mr. Bivins will be missed by thousands of students! Simply put, in his own humble way, Mr. Bivins impacted so many lives just by being Mr. Bivins. Mr. Bivins surely made everyone at CMTHS feel safe, secure, and happy with laughter. Mr. Bivins retired on August 30 of this year. His wife, Mrs. Gwen Bivins, calls Mr. Michael Bivins her hero.
